CCL CEO announced as Scientific Advisory Board Chair for the LTIO

Cambridge Clinical Laboratories CEO Dr Anthony Cooke has been announced as Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board for The Laboratory and Testing Industry Organisation.

The Laboratory and Testing Industry Organisation (LTIO) is the trade association for the testing industry, covering testing companies and laboratories. With an ethical purpose at its core, setting standards is a central part of its public service. The organisation is led by an independent director and overseen by an Advisory Board, which meets to discuss the issues facing the industry, and decide the direction of the LTIO. As with many trade associations, the Advisory Board can establish groups of interested persons to examine particular areas of interest or concern.

CCL CEO, Dr Anthony Cooke, says: “It’s a privilege to be offered this position. The UK now has a significant private sector lab testing network, many who are new to this industry but have striven hard to get accredited and I for one do not want to see them disappear just because Covid-19 testing is reducing. At a time when the NHS is severely under pressure and has a massive backlog of patients, we need people of vision in Government who can see ways to use this newfound expertise and capacity to improve healthcare outcomes for everyone in the UK. At a time when levelling up is being talked about, the disparities in healthcare provision around the UK need to be sorted once and for all.”
